How to Know Gods Voice
Readers I designed this blog to encourage people to understand how to know Gods voice. Have you ever been around pastors or a really religious person that has said that God has told them to do something? I have, and for along time I wanted to know how the knew it was God. I remember this one time I was in Sunday school and my pastor said she was walking home from work after a long day with her head down. God told her to put her head up and when she did she saw these two guys that were ready to rob her. I also remember one time a lady at my church who was running late for work. So of course she was rushing, and then out of no where God told her not to go to work that day. This lady stayed at home and she begin to watch the news. When the lady watched the news, she saw her job being robbed. Today I want to bless you with the gift to understand Gods voice. The first thing you must understand is that God is God that wants us to operate out of faith. That means that when we believe God is telling us something we should not spend time contemplating on wither that was God talking to us or if it was just ourselves thinking in our minds. The next thing you must understand is that when God talks to us he is not going to communicate to us in some big spectacular voice. Now that we have got the things that we must understand out the way we can now know how to know Gods voice.
To know Gods voice you must pray for him to reveal it to you. You can pray to God for simple things just to get in the hang of his voice. For example, ask God what’s two plus two. Or you can ask God whether you should eat fried chicken or baked chicken. The first answer that comes to mind you must trust that is God. Don’t for one second think that the answer is you. As you continue to pray to God for simple things the more you will know Gods voice. On major decisions you should pray for a confirmation or for God to reveal his answer to you in other ways. For example, when my wife and I were looking for a church God revealed to me what church my family and I need to join. But when I told my wife the church God said to join she didn’t believe me. So I prayed for God to confirm this decision to my wife. That day we went to church and the pastor said, “This is the church that you need to join so join and plant your seed”. Now when the pastor said that he didn’t even know us, and he also didn’t know that we were looking for a church to join. That was just God confirming his answer to us.
Sometimes God won’t answer your prayers, sometimes he will say wait, and other times he will say just trust me. When God says trust me I encourage you to do just that because when he says that please believe that something big will happen. One time God give me a answer that didn’t make sense and he told me to trust him and I did. My wife and I were shopping to get a mattress. Once we picked out this mattress we needed it delivered. It cost extra to have the mattress delivered and I prayed to God should I get the mattress delivered because we didn’t have a way of getting the mattress home. I also prayed to God because we couldn’t afford to get the mattress delivered. God said to trust him and to get the mattress delivered. As soon as I decided to trust God the sales person said I will deliver the mattress to you for free.
